The Dust Settles on BABE2007

On an overcast morning in May, 44 cars congregated at Staten Island to go on the latest American craze, a banger rally.

The cars were dreadful, more so than expected, and at least 6 cars didn't even make the start as they were so bad, which strangely enough for our anti-event is a good thing. It shows that teams had the courage to field really, really unreliable cars.

Staples2Naples Organisers Announce Euro-African Banger Rally Calais2Casablanca

Street Safari, organisers of the original European banger rally Staples2Naples, announce their fifth event, Calais2Casablanca, their first ever Euro-African motoring adventure. Like all StreetSafari events, participating teams must get their £100 cars across the finish line after several days of amazing driving and quirky challenges for cash prizes.

November 7, 2006 - Calais2Casablanca, from the organisers of industry leading annual events Staples2Naples, Home2Rome and CzechWrecks, descends through Europe in the late spring of 2007. Calais2Casablanca is the first StreetSafari event to entail two continents, breaking out of Europe to land in the culturally rich country of Morocco in Northern Africa.

Staples2Naples 2006: Absolutely Superb!

We finally got a few minutes to write up what has to be the best ever Staples2Naples.

A big thank you to all the teams who made it such a fantastic event.

We've often wondered if the rallies would become like a "job", especially since this was our third rally this year, and we still have one more to do.

Staples2Naples was excellent fun from start to finish - hard work mind you - but excellent fun. So we still don't have an answer to that question

Highlights of the event had to be the biggest water pistol fight ever seen. The costumes, although simple, were effective.

Staples2Naples Banger Rally Joins Forces With Craptrumps

Some of Britain's worst cars are preparing to leave our shores this week to take part in the annual Staples2Naples(1) banger rally. This year the rally has formed a special partnership with Craptrumps, the antidote card game to the 70s classic Top Trumps.

September 19, 2006 - Staples2Naples is organised by Streetsafari.com(2) and is now in its fourth year. Participants must buy a car for less than £100 and then get to Naples in just four days, covering over 1,500 difficult miles across the Alps and undertaking numerous challenges along the way, in an attempt to win £1,000 prize money.

CzechWrecks Banger Rally Arrives in Prague with a Bang

The first ever CzechWrecks Banger Rally is a great success, arriving in Prague to much national media attention.

September 14, 2006 - The bonkers banger rally called CzechWrecks(1) finished on Monday in Prague, bringing with it 40 banged up old cars and over 120 enthusiastic participants, who were exhausted, but ready for the party of their lives.

StreetSafari, the organisers of the original European banger rallies Staples2Naples and Home2Rome, announce CzechWrecks, the third installment of motoring madness. CzechWrecks takes teams in £100 cars through the beautiful town of Annecy and across the Swiss Alps to northern Italy for a heroic crossing of legendary Stelvio Pass. The final leg of the adventure takes the event into the untested territory of the Czech Republic for a finish in historic Prague.

April 24, 2006 - CzechWrecks, from the organisers of industry leading events Staples2Naples and Home2Rome, is the next adventure in the hugely popular banger rally calendar. The event takes a new route through Switzerland and northern Italy and includes scaling the infamous Stelvio Pass, crossing into Austria and then the Czech Republic for the final descent upon Prague.

Czechs Take an Interest in an Extremely British Weekend

CzechWrecks has discovered a rich seam of eccentricity in the Czech Republic as a number of Czech teams have taken up the challenge of the very British banger rally.

July 19, 2006 - It’s a slightly eccentric way of spending a weekend, but the very British concept of banger rallying seems to have ignited the Czech imagination. A new banger rally, called CzechWrecks (leaving Britain this September), has really taken off in the former Czechoslovakia, much to the organisers’ surprise.

BABE 2007 Launched -- An American Adventure

America's only Banger Rally is back for a second installment with BABE Rally 2007, launching July 4th. Teams have to purchase a vehicle for less than $250 and drive it 1,500 miles from the Big Apple to the Big Easy.
